Bringing fresh seasonal flowers and herbs inside is a beautiful way to add fall colors in your home.
The dog days of summer have given way to the crisp cool air of autumn. A whole new season of color and charm have come onto the horizon. We are going to look at three ways to welcome fall into your home. Dining Room Table Cloak your table with a burnt orange or deep mustard tablecloth. Using a ceramic tray as a centerpiece, place a few small pumpkins on the tray, slightly varying in size. Dress the pumpkins with fresh herb cuttings such as purple basil, rosemary or thyme to flaunt the beautiful fragrances of fall. Living Room If you’re looking for a fresh farmhouse look, grab a few overstuffed pillows for the couch in shades of white and light gray. Paint two or three pumpkins white and place them on the fireplace mantel, coffee table or hearth. Fill a vase with majestic puffs of October Snow Camelias. A monotone color palette adds such freshness to the room. Pick your favorite fall color and flood your room then sit back and read a good book! Front Porch Gather all the things you love about fall!!! Chrysanthemums, big pumpkins, medium pumpkins, little pumpkins, gourds and ornamental pepper plants. Place a bale of hay on either side of your front door and place your collection on top, in front of and around your hay bale. Add flowering kale plants for a lively purplish color or croton with its rich reds, orange and yellow. If you have steps that come off the porch continue the carpet of color down the sides for a symmetrical display of autumn. When you are finished, relax on a rocker with a warm cup of cider. There are so many ways to incorporate the smells and colors of fall into your home. Enjoying the season and all it has to offer can be so satisfying.
